Record the flat width and height after leaving any edge, corner, seam, taper, cap, or curve you do not want the label to cross.
Fit the required content
Build the actual text, image, address, or code at its intended size. Content—not the container name—sets the minimum useful label.
Match a real template
Compare the proposed dimensions with the exact sheet, roll, or custom-die specification and print a one-piece test at 100% scale.

What the calculator does
The useful maximum label size is the flat usable surface after subtracting chosen edge clearance. For sheet planning, fit whole label widths plus gaps across the usable sheet, repeat for height, and compare the result after rotating the label.
Keep the result honest
- The exact supplier die and template take priority over a generic dimension.
- A measured fit does not establish postal, barcode, food, cosmetic, or other labeling compliance.
- Print one test and check the actual package before ordering a larger quantity.
